Baltimore Grand Prix
I decided it was time to take Milo’s obsession with Lighting McQueen to a whole new level. Milo and I took a road trip down to Baltimore over Labor Day weekend to visit our groovy friends Alex, Amy & baby Julian – AND – to watch the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix. We caught the IndyCar series race on Sunday (won by the aptly named Will Power driving the Verizon car).
So hit full screen on the slideshow below and turn up the volume. The cars go insanely fast and are insanely loud – and whether or not you’re into car racing, it was a pretty awesome spectacle to behold. Milo is still talking about the red Target car driven by Scott Dixon and the lime green GoDaddy car driven by Danica Patrick.
We spent most of our time in 2 locations – first along the straightaway just past the chicane and just before the finish line and 2nd just past turn #8 where the cars exit from Pit Row.
I need some cleaners dad!
I’ve been working on building a bed frame for Rachel and I (yes for the first time in about 5 years we’re going to have a real bed!) and Milo has been helping out. We’ve been having a lot of discussions about “hardware” – bolts, nuts, washers – and tools. The other day I cut up some pieces of wood for him, drilled some holes, and provided a handful of hardware for him to play and build with.
Except I omitted some key components to his pile of materials.
Milo came rushing back after I gave him everything and said:
I need some cleaners dad!!!
I couldn’t figure out what he was talking about and for a couple of minutes he tried to describe what he needed. I finally realized he wanted washers.
Washers -> cleaners
Cleaners -> washers
