Been channeling my Great-Grandma Hanna and making Matzo and butter sandwiches for Milo (and me) lately as a snack.
I have strong memories of Hanna giving me egg Matzo smothered in butter at her garden apartment in Hackensack, NJ. Very good memories. I also distinctly remember her hassock (and flipping it on its side and rolling around the living room) and the crystal bowl on her coffee table that was always filled with hard candies. And the dentures in a jar in the bathroom.
Here are some simple instructions on how you can plant your own memory of Great-Grandma Hanna:
give the egg Matzo smothered in butter to a kid and watch him or her smile

Watta kid – how funny is that !!
And I am touched by your memories of my Hanna – sweet –
I happen to be rolling matzo balls right now and freezing them as I’m having a mini-mini Passover dinner here on the 13th because David and Carol will be here ( that’s when they arrive from Idaho ).I have to pace myself – one dish per day -that’s why I’m starting now – tomorrow the brisket – then the chicken soup – and so it all has to go into the freezer -unfortunately – hope it will all taste fine in spite of that….
Are you celebrating? Easter AND Passover or just one?
Enjoy – hug Rachel and Milo for me – GB….
