These are circa October 1, 2009. I was kind of busy in the fall (i.e. preparing tenure portfolio)…so media was made but never uploaded. I’ll upload a more recent interview soon for comparison.
surprise
Scenario: walking down the sidewalk with Milo on our way to his friend Lollie’s 3rd birthday party (holding a present)
Milo: What’s in there (pointing to the present)
Me: It’s a surprise
Milo: No daddy, that’s not a surprise, that’s a birthday present
“Daddy, I love you.”
Milo and I had just had a nice bath and were drying off when he said this to me.
I was about to feel all warm and fuzzy inside when he looked up at me and qualified his remark by saying, “but I didn’t love you yesterday”.
hmpfff.
Hasta Banana
…this is what happens when a 3-year old who loves to eat starts learning Spanish
Heaven holds a place for those who play
Overheard Rachel and Milo signing the other morning…
And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know (Wo, wo, wo)
God bless you please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who play
(Hey, hey, hey…hey, hey, hey)
Lyrics by Simon and Garfunkel
Modification by Milo Schwartz
Three times around
Let’s water the sky
Milo and I were playing with sticks the other day at the playground. Sticks should be placed into the category of “ultimate toys” because they can be anything. This day they were water hoses.
We watered the slide and we watered each other. We watered Milo’s scooter, and a tree, and some other sticks.
Then Milo said, “let’s water the sky”.
So we did.
I’m ready for bed
Me: “Milo, you can have dessert before you go to bed”
…after thinking for a moment…
Milo: “I’m ready for bed”
