The clouds parted and we woke up to a killer sunny day after a week of rain in Providence – just in time for a Milo’s 5th b-day party, a scavenger hunt in Lippett Park of Providence’s eastside. Hard to believe the little dude is half a decade old already.
1st violin recital
Miss Ariel held a violin recital on April 14th for her Suzuki students. It was tons of fun and great to see Milo’s reaction when the “big” kids played. They were pretty incredible and inspiring for both of us. Milo rocked out a “Twinkle Variation A” (“Mississippi Hot Dog” bow rhythm). And then his entire class played an ensemble “Monkey Song”.
solo: Twinkle Variation A (Mississippi Hot Dog)
ensemble: Monkey Song on e String
from L to R: Penny, Eugene, Iris, Pete, Rose, Milo

We know some of you live far away, but you’re invited anyway!

Happy Mother’s Day!
2012 Passover
Had a really fun Passover weekend in CT with Rachel’s family this year. Omer and Rebecca were in from Israel. David and Adina were in from Tahoe. And most of the other usual suspects were present. I was personally in pain most of the time from consuming so much food. Was fun hanging out with all of the cousins and it was great to see Rachel and Rebecca’s bellies together. So exciting that these 2 cousins will be so close together in age! Here’s the photo essay:

I’m just pretending to be a scorpion
Milo had his 1st dentist visit last week and got his teeth cleaned. Everything looked good – healthy teeth, good spacing…
Things were going well when part way into the cleaning Milo starts making this strange and somewhat guttural sound. The hygienist, slightly alarmed, stopped what she was doing and asked him if everything was alright and if something hurt.
Milo replied, “I’m just pretending to be a scorpion.”
And so I ask you, faithful audience, what animal or creature do you pretend to be when you get your teeth cleaned?
Bye Bye Do, hello Re
Milo is growing like a weed and just outgrew his first violin. We named the first one, “Do” and the new one has been dubbed “Re”.
Bye Bye Do, hello Re!!
It’s sad saying goodbye to Do, because of how souped up and customized he had become. Milo’s wonderful teacher Miss Ariel had this 1st violin and bow “modded” with finger tapes, elastic band “finger seat-belts”, and multiple stickers in various spots to help us keep track of where all of our fingers need to be at various times.
But Re already has brand new finger tapes and I’m sure before long will be just as loved.
