Conservation of Energy states that:
the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant over time
This basically means that if energy is gained somewhere, it must be lost somewhere else.
I just hope that there isn’t a law of Conservation of Cuteness, because we have so much cuteness going on over here right now that other parts of the world must be experiencing a severe deficit. Sorry, but wherever you are, come on by Providence if you are experiencing a cuteness shortage.

During Granny’s recent visit east, Gammy treated us all to a fabulous lunch at The Golden Lamb Buttery in Brooklyn (Connecticut). The day and setting was perfect and it was wonderful to be able to eat slowly and unhurried. We spent hours at our table enjoying our meal, sipping Bloody Mary’s before, and nibbling on desserts after. Thanks Judy!!
In the spirit of my friend Katie, whose blog posts make you salivate with envy, behold:
Milo and Judy taste testing Chilled Pear Pineapple soup
Tarte Provencale + Dill Chips with a Gin Bloody Mary in the background
Lamb Ragout + Gnocci (gluten-free !)
what meal at a buttery is complete without butter?
Coconut Custard over a Macaroon

After chronically knocking over water glasses for years, and acutely knocking them over for several days in a row, this 41 year old women finally broke down and bought herself a sippy cup…and a wave of relief passed through the household knowing that our iphones and ipods and laptops and books and papers would finally, finally be safe.

Status Report:
Zac: sleeping soundly
Morgan: ravenous, but has tons of work to do
Option 1 – stay put and work
PRO: In this current body position I can probably squeeze in an hour of work AND have the use of both of my hands (which way more than doubles my one-handed productivity while writing code – I’d say 2-handed typing is about 5.7 times as effective as 1-handed typing).
CON: I may pass out due to low blood sugar at any moment
Option 2 – risk it and get something to eat
PRO: I’ll probably be more productive and remain conscious with a higher blood sugar level
CON: This will almost certainly wake Zac up and I’ll have to revert to one-handed computer programming
I’m looking for creative solutions here. What would you do?
